MilDef has, in the third quarter, closed a series of contracts on the US defense market regarding cutting edge rugged IT for digitalization of the U.S. Army, Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), United States Marine Corps (USMC), and U.S. Navy.
A £2.5m subcontract has been awarded to MilDef to supply Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA) compliant Processors and Ethernet Switches for the British Army’s upgraded Challenger 3 Main Battle Tank (MBT).
STRONG SALES GROWTH DESPITE DELIVERY DELAYS
MilDef, the nordic region’s leading supplier of tactical IT, software solutions and services, will publish its year-end and fourth quarter results for 2022 on February 9, at 08:00 am CET.
In August 2022, MilDef announced a 20-year framework agreement worth SEK 2.8 billion, with an unnamed defense force of a European NATO country. Now the first order has been placed for the contract to help digitalize the country’s army. The order value in this initial contract is approximately MSEK 50 with deliveries over the period 2023-2024.
To further strengthen MilDef’s position in Denmark, MilDef Denmark is now established. The subsidiary will be headed by Claus Larsen, most recently Country Manager for Atos Denmark, specialized in defense and security and with 20 years of service as a reserve officer.
MilDef has received an extension to the previous order from Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) to provide Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA) compliant Crewstation PCs, Servers and Ethernet Switches for the British Army Mechanized Infantry Vehicle (MIV) programme. Deliveries will take place 2023-2030.
MilDef has opened a manufacturing facility at the Bro Tathan business park near Cardiff, Wales. The new facility manufactures MilDef’s tactical IT platform for the £25 million RBSL contract won in 2020, as well as providing a non-EU platform for global sales of MilDef’s products.
MilDef has entered into an agreement to acquire all shares in the company Handheld Group AB (“Handheld”), specialised within the product segment rugged computers for an international customer base. The acquisition accelerates the pace in MilDef’s strategy for profitable growth, adding a complementary product segment, broadening the customer base as well as strengthening MilDef’s international
MilDef, a global provider of tactical IT, has signed a 20-year strategic framework agreement with defense forces in a European NATO country, to modernize and digitalize this nation’s defense forces. The counterpart cannot be disclosed due to national security. The framework agreement is by far the largest to date for MilDef, estimated to SEK 2.8 billion over 20 years.
