MilDef owned Handheld closes a contract for delivery of nano drone technology

Handheld Group, a leading manufacturer of rugged mobile computers and part of MilDef has been assigned to develop operator computers for nano drones, used by dismounted soldiers. The bespoke carry-on uniform control computer is based on a 7-inch ultra-rugged Handheld Android tablet. The customer is a global defense group, based in the US, delivering nano drones for military battlefield surveillance. Initial order value is 6 MSEK, with substantial growth potential once large quantity-deliveries commence.

Drone technology has emerged as a game-changer in modern warfare, revolutionizing the way military operations are conducted. Unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, offer numerous advantages that have significantly transformed the battlefield and enhanced military capabilities.

“This win is an example of cross selling synergies and technology collaborations created between MilDef and Handheld. Handheld’s lightweight, durable and powerful tablets build a strong case for the evolution of the dismounted soldiers, carrying and utilizing high tech computers in the field. This is an example on our ability to develop and deliver truly bespoke solutions for our customers,” says Daniel Ljunggren, CEO MilDef Group.
